Impaired driving charges laid after man struck in Yellowknife

Impaired driving charges have been laid after a pedestrian was stuck and injured near a downtown Yellowknife intersection earlier this month.

On June 9, police say a man was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of 50 Street and 51 Avenue around 7:15pm.

At the time, the injured man was transported to Stanton Hospital for treatment while the driver was arrested.

On Thursday, Jason Madsen, 47, was charged with two counts of impaired driving and one count of dangerous driving.

He’s scheduled to appear in territorial court on September 13.
