Arrest made after police find unconscious man in Yellowknife

A man has been arrested for aggravated assault after another man was found unconscious in downtown Yellowknife early Friday morning.

At approximately 2:18am, RCMP responded to a report of an assault at the intersection of 47 Street and Franklin Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious man who was transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital.

A male suspect was later arrested and will remain in police custody before a court appearance Friday.

Charges are pending as police continue to investigate.
