Man arrested following armed robbery in Yellowknife

A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in downtown Yellowknife early Friday morning.

At approximately 12:37am, police responded to a report of a robbery on 53 Street. RCMP say someone was confronted by a man with a weapon who demanded personal property and cash.

Police didn’t disclose what the suspect was armed with but said no injuries were reported.

Officers were able to locate and arrest the male suspect at a nearby residence.

Charges are pending as police continue to investigate.
