Northwestel customers in Yellowknife were without television for several hours Tuesday.
Some customers reported experiencing disruptions around noon, and service wasn’t fully restored until approximately 7pm.
The telecommunications company announced Tuesday that there were also TV disruptions in Fort Smith and High Level, Alta.
Customers turning on their TVs may have experienced limited or no channel access and seen a message that said “one moment please” followed by the reference code: S0a00.
According to Northwestel’s website, that message will appear when your digital box stops receiving the proper signal required to display a channel. The company says this can occur either on all channels, or just individual ones.
DSL internet service was also down in several NWT communities Tuesday, including Norman Wells, Fort Simpson, Wrigley, Fort Liard, Tulita and Deline.
Northwestel hasn’t revealed why there were any disruptions, but says all impacted services have been restored.
