Business burns overnight on Yellowknife’s Woolgar Avenue

A Yellowknife business is severely damaged after a fire broke out late Sunday night. 

Around 10:00pm, flames could be seen pouring out of Fitzgerald Carpeting at 304 Woolgar Avenue, just off Range Lake Road.

As firefighters worked on the fire, a larger area was cordoned off by police.

The City of Yellowknife later sent out a tweet asking residents to avoid the area as much as possible.

We’re expecting to hear more from city officials later Monday. The fire continued to burn into the following morning. MAP
