Woman charged following suspected stabbing in Behchoko

A Behchoko woman has been charged in connection with a suspected stabbing in the community.

On Saturday morning, police responded to a disturbance in a home where they found a man suffering from apparent stab wounds.

The victim was transported Behchoko’s health center and later taken to Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife before being released.

Florence Wedzin, 41, has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and resisting arrest.

She was released from custody on strict conditions and is scheduled to make her next court appearance on July 19 in Behchoko.
