CIBC Run for Our Lives unveils new logo ahead of fundraiser

Representatives from CIBC and the Stanton Territorial Hospital Foundation unveiled a new logo for this year’s CIBC Run for Our Lives event Friday.

Unlike other cancer fundraising events, all proceeds from the Run for Our Lives stays in the territory and benefits Northern patients directly.

From 2004 to 2010, the event raised over $1 million which was used to purchase a digital mammography machine for Stanton.

Money raised also enabled the hospital to create a cancer care coordinator program which helps patients navigate the medical system once they’ve been diagnosed.

This year, the CIBC Run for Our Lives committee has made the move to raise money for all types of cancer patients and not just those with breast cancer, as it had done in the past.

An actual run will also be held this year instead of just health awareness sessions. This year’s event will take place on October 2 in Yellowknife.
