Online reservations for most NWT campsites now open

With camping season just over a month away, NWT Parks has opened up registration for campsites online.

Anyone can head on over to the NWT Parks website and book their favourite spot anytime with one exception. Registration for Fred Henne Territorial Park opens up at 10am Friday.

NWT Parks opens up the camping season officially on May 13, with a few parks (Sambaa Deh Falls Territorial Park and Fort Simpson Territorial Park) opening on May 20 and Blackstone Territorial Park and a few others opening on June 1.

The number of people who visited NWT campgrounds was up last season, according to the Government of the Northwest Territories.

More than 24,000 visited parks last year and by early September, NWT Parks had already exceeded total revenue from the year prior based on online sales alone.
