Yellowknife’s Epic Grill will no longer operate out of the Legislative Assembly after Friday and the building’s cafe will be closed to the public until further notice.
The Filipino couple behind the restaurant celebrated their first day in the legislature exactly a year ago today.
At the time, June and Dorothy De Leon told Moose FM their ambition was to become the most famous caterers in Yellowknife.
Before moving into the building, the couple won fans over with their distinctive Filipino all-day breakfasts at the Arnica Inn.
On Thursday, the legislature thanked the De Leons for their year of service in the building.
It remains to be seen who will take over catering services and cafeteria operations following Epic Grill’s departure after a request for proposals process proved unsuccessful last month.
