Hay River RCMP are urging residents to buckle up following a fatal accident on the K’atl’odeeche First Nation reserve Tuesday morning.
Police say a 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a 34-year-old man was taken to hospital following the single-vehicle accident.
The man has since been released from hospital after being treated for injuries.
At approximately 9:20am, RCMP say the driver of a grey 1999 Toyota 4Runner lost control of the vehicle before it rolled over on the roadway.
The man and woman were the only occupants at the time of the crash.
Police are asking for any potential witnesses to come forward as they continue to investigate what caused the accident.
