Hay River clinic closed all week during move into new centre

Hay River’s medical clinic will be closed all week as it moves into the new regional health centre.

The Hay River Health and Social Services Authority is asking residents to reconsider using its services unless absolutely necessary during the move.

The medical clinic, located at the corner of Woodland Drive and Gaetz Drive, will reopen at its new home on March 7.

During the closure, a lone doctor will be available for non-urgent care at H.H. Williams Memorial Hospital. Emergency services will be unaffected.

Following the clinic’s move into the Hay River Regional Health Centre, the departments of rehabilitation, midwifery and administration will move.

The switchover to the new hospital will take about three months, with the emergency department, laboratory and X-ray departments being the last to move.

For the rest of this week, the health authority says telephone services will be down at the current clinic and booked appointments will not be available.

Once the clinic is operational in its new home, you can book appointments by calling (867) 874-8100.
