Yellowknife RCMP investigating separate weekend stabbings

Yellowknife RCMP are investigating two stabbings that happened in the city over the weekend.

At approximately 2:00am on Sunday, police say a man was stabbed outside the Shell gas station on Range Lake Road while trying to break up a fight between two men.

While the man was able to avoid serious injury, a male suspect remains at large.

RCMP say they’re looking for a man standing roughly 6 ft tall with an average build, wearing a gray and black plaid jacket.

Police are also investigating a stabbing that happened in the Fort Gary Apartments around 7:15pm Sunday.

When officers arrived at a residence in the building, they found a woman suffering from an apparent stab wound.

A female suspect had already left the scene, however her identity is known both to the victim and police.

RCMP say charges have not been laid yet but that their investigation is ongoing. The condition of the female victim is unknown at this time.

If you have any information about either of these investigations, contact Yellowknife RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
